Daryl is coming soon: a private, local AI for your Mac
Published
Daryl is almost here. It is a personal AI for macOS, built to run locally on your computer, so your conversations don't have to travel to someone else's cloud to get an intelligent answer.
What is Daryl?
Daryl (also written Daryl AI or Daryl SI) is an independent personal AI designed to live on your computer, understand your working context, and help you navigate the things that matter. You talk to it naturally, think through decisions with it, and keep the context it remembers on your own machine.
Why local?
Most AI assistants work by sending your conversations to remote servers. Daryl is designed to process its core conversations on your own computer instead. Your personal context stays under your control, you can review and delete what Daryl remembers, and online features are optional and happen only with your authorization.
- On-device intelligence for core conversations.
- Private by default, with local privacy and security controls.
- Yours to manage: review, export, and delete your data.
- Online only when you choose.
What does the SI in Daryl SI mean?
SI stands for Super Intelligence. Daryl AI and Daryl SI (Daryl Super Intelligence) are the same product. Today, Daryl begins with the fundamentals: local intelligence, natural voice interaction, and decision-making.
What's coming first
Development starts with those fundamentals. From there, the experience will evolve with better voices, local memory and continuity, an Omega integration that lets Daryl work through a browser with your permission, and ongoing improvements to reasoning and language support. Features are in development and will be released as they meet product and security requirements.
